The current cemetery was at on time two separate cemeteries. The view above is circa 1909 and is believed to be the entrance on Ocean Avenue. Some sections of this cemetery seem to be un-kept with over grown vegetation and toppled monuments, while other sections seem to be well maintained. There are still burials taking place, and it seems that lots are still for sale as there are many new burials. Information on the internet states that the New York Bay Cemetery was opened in 1848 - 1849 and it was one of the largest Protestant cemeteries in the county. Date of death must be known for look ups of the New York Bay section. It is said that they will do lookups over the phone and seem to be helpful.
